Hunting Fever

Hunting Fever has officially been installed into my son's head, heart, body, & soul. Still having a hard with the fact that Taylor is 12 and is old enough to hunt, where did the time go? Taylor had a tag for the elk hunt also but after 2 weekends of searching and hunting they came home empty handed. ( i was not to sad) The deer hunt started last weekend they left at the crack of dawn sat morning & hunted all day and came home with nothing. On Sunday they left not so early and I got a call about 9:15 am to let me know that Taylor had just shot his first deer.
Laramie said through the shaking and the tears of joy streaming down Taylor's face he was able to get a direct hit 400 yds away. Not sure who was happier the hunter or the hunter's dad. Then the work began to go and find it, gut it, haul it home.
The girls and I were outside waiting for them to get home and you could see the grin on Taylor's face coming down the driveway. Congrats to you Taylor!!!!

Kids are back in school, Kennedy starts preschool!

Another summer has come and gone, kids have now been in school for about a month. Taylor started 7th and is in the Middle School and has to leave the house at 7 am to catch the bus (which hasn't happened much I've been his bus) we all know that he is not a morning person at all!!!! He is once again playing on the Storm soccer comp team and is also playing and practicing with the a-team. So we pretty much have soccer 6 days a week. He is also able to hunt this year which he is very excited for.
Gabrielle has started 5th grade and is in the Timp. Intermediate School her bus arrives a little after 8am and she is a morning person thank goodness, I hardly ever have a problem getting her out of bed to go. She is also taking violin this year in school and is so far loving it. I hope that it is something that she will continue to love. She likes her teacher this year and was a little nervous about going to a different school but she has done great!
Kennedy started preschool and loves it, asks everyday if she has preschool today. She is in the afternoon class and it is so hard for her to wait till after lunch to go she absolutely loves it. Her teacher is Ms. Lalie (Laurie) she is wonderful with the little kids.

My New and Fabulous Kitchen

Happy to announce that the kitchen remodel is complete, (well almost) still need glass for upper cupboards and the metal mesh for the island cupboards, but at least it's in working condition. After about 3 1/2 months of construction, dust, money, patience, more patience, some bad words I'm loving my new kitchen. It is soooo nice to have such an open floor plan we can all eat dinner at the island and have plenty of room.
I was so worried about not having a pantry and where would I put all my crap, well all the crap that wasn't or hasn't been used since we've lived here went in the garbage and for all the other stuff I have plenty of room even have unused drawers and cupboards now. Luis my cabinet maker did an amazing job!!!!!!!!! If you haven't done you need to check out his website @ CapunayDesigns.com.

Kennedy turns 3

Some little things about Kennedy,
She is now 3 going on 33.
She loves her brother and sister and is very sad on Monday mornings when they leave for school.
She cries and wants to ride the bus too.
She loves to pretend that she is the mom and I'm her weetheart.
She LOVES her Aunt Jodi, so much that when we are with Aunt Jodi she is her mom and I'm Stephanie. She will tell me, "mom this is my mom ok, your Stephanie." I think she would live there if I'd let her. She will only drink milk for A. Jodi.
She loves to play with her cousins and asks to go there on a daily basis.
She loves to play with the dogs and feed the horses with her dad.
She still has 3 hour naps and will probably be in her crib forever cause I'm not giving up nap time.
She changes her clothes 50 times a day I never know what's clean and what's dirty so she keeps my washer going all the time.
I don't know what we'd do without her, she brings so much joy to our family and we all love her very much.

Summing up the month of December

December is and always a very busy month for us. This year Laramie & I went to the NFR in Vegas the first weekend in Dec. and had a blast. Gabrielle turned 10, where has the time gone and we had Christmas 3 days later.
Gabrielle had a great b-day this year, seems like now matter how I try to have her day special something always happens, someone has a sickness and can't come or the weather is horrible and family can't make it. This year was an exception to the rule, no major sickness's and the weather was on our side so that meant that Aunt Jodi and Aunt Connie were both able to make it. She had a great b-day and was very surprised with her scooter.
Christmas was also a huge success at the Bether's house this year, everyone got what they asked for and more. For the first time in along time I was able to get gifts for Laramie and he had no clue what they were and was surprised when he opened them. The man cave is now equipped with a hair on hide cow rug and whenever Kennedy goes into the man cave she pets the cow rug and says oohhh soft as long as it doesn't moo back at her it can stay.

Disneyland 2010

We had a blast at Disneyland, the kids had alot of fun and rode lots of rides. Kennedy wasn't quite sure of the characters the first day, but after she seen that her cousins were not afraid of them she wanted to get down and see them also. I took her to the playhouse disney show and she had a blast!!! We were the second row from the stage and she was dancing, singing, and bouncing when tigger bounced she had so much fun. The second morning we were there Kennedy woke up and said, " mom I see Minnie, Jesse, Woody." Every morning after that she said the same thing. The day we were getting ready to come home she said, " mom no airplane I go see Minnie".
The first night we were there we went to the parade, Gabrielle was chosen by one of the dancers to go out on the parade route and dance with them she did a great job. When she got back she said, " mom I was shaking so bad." I would publish the video but I don't want to embarass her.
Taylor and Gabrielle went on a ton of rides with their dad, even the rides that I didn't think Gabrielle would like she loved. They rode Tower of Terror numerous times, Screamin California, and Splash Mountain alot. We were lucky enough to be able to go to Disneyland with Jodi and fam, Mike & Laura & fam, and Aaron & Carrie & fam. It was fun to have family and friends there the same time we were there.

As you all know terrible two's have hit the Bether's house. Last friday was one of those terrible two days, first it was the chocolate milk mix spilled in the pantry, then while I was in the shower Kennedy decided to play in the water and when I got out of the shower I found her in her diaper playing in her bathroom sink. She was singing at the top of her lungs the song to Elmos World. Water, water, water everywhere and she was freezing cold, but that didn't stop her she played in the water for forever. She washed her sisters barbies, her brothers hot wheel cars and whatever else she could find to wash.

Yes, I know it has been since Feb. since my last update, but life at the Bether's has been busy.
I cannot believe that summer is almost over and next week the kids will be back in school. Taylor is very busy playing soccer and the season will soon start so that will lead to more traveling and more rides in the car, I'm sooooo happy that I now have a bigger car and there will be no more fighting. Well I shouldn't say no more fighting maybe less fighting is a better thing to say. Taylor has also been able to spend alot of time up at gpa Steve's house this summer helping out, squirrel hunting, bird hunting, watching tv & eating all there goodies, mowing the lawn etc, etc.
Gabrielle put her ceramics in the county fair this year and took 1st place on all three, I'm so proud of her she is a very talented girl. She also has spent alot of time at gma Lynne's house, helping unpack, organizing jewelry, shredding papers, teaching Chloe how to chase things, and watching tv. Taylor and Gabrielle have been such great help this summer, I cannot believe how they have grown up all of a sudden.
Kennedy will be very lonely when the kids go back to school, but on the other hand she will have no one to fight with, she won't have to share, she can watch her shows on tv, and there will be peace & quiet at the house. Ahhh how I love quiet time.

Baby K turns 2

Yes, I know I'm a little late, but better late than never right? I can't believe that my baby is 2. How time flies. Kennedy had a great birthday, she loved opening presents, in fact she was so quick to open them that I could barely get any pictures. She had so much fun. She also loved her elmo cake. I couldn't imagine life without her, she brings so much joy to our family. We love you Miss Kennedy.

T-man wrestles

I know I'm a little past due for and update, but better late than never. The wrestling season has finally came to a close, (thank goodness). Taylor did a great job and absolutely loves to wrestle. The last wrestle match was in American Fork a state tournament for 5th and 6th graders. Taylor took 4th place and did a great job. We are so proud of him.

Happy Birthday Gabrielle

I wanted to share with everyone some things about Gabrielle for her birthday, yes I know I'm 2 days late. Gabrielle is the peace maker of our family, if ever there is a problem she jumps right in and makes it all better. She is a wonderful big and little sister. This morning while I was in the shower she watched Kennedy for me and when I got out I came into the family room to check on them and she was holding Kennedy watching cartoons on her lap and was tickling Kennedy's forehead with her fingers. It was the cutest thing I've seen. Kennedy was just smiling looking up at her big sister. Gabrielle noticed me watching her and was smiling, shooshing me away with her hand. Gabrielle has also taken interest in her ceramics class, she does a wonderful job and likes to go. I'm amazed at how wonderful she is doing in it. This year for her birthday she wanted a karaoke machine, so we have had are own entertainment. She has the High School Musical cd now memorized. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful daughter and sister. Happy Birthday to you Gabrielle. We love you!

Winter Fun

We took the kids outside yesterday and played in the snow, poor Kennedy looked like a pink marshmallow and if she fell down, she couldn't get up because her snow suit is way to big for her. She had so much fun playing with the kids and the dogs. Taylor, Gabrielle and Laramie had quite the snowball fight, Kennedy and I stayed out of the way. After the snowball fight and shoveling the walk ways we built a snowman. When it was time to come in Kennedy screamed and screamed and screamed. She loved being outside with everyone.

Halloween 2009

We had a great Halloween, we started on Thursday night by carving pumpkins. For some reason Lar and I are the last ones at the table finishing the pumpkins and the kids have disappeared. Friday night we went to the trunk or treat, then on Saturday we went trick or treating.We made pumpkin pizza's and had a skeleton veggie tray, that Gab and I made. Gab did a great job at cutting up the veggies. The kids looked great in their costumes, Baby K didn't quite know what to think of her brother and sister with their painted faces. It took her a little while to figure out that it was ok. The kids got tons of candy and after trick or treating we went for ice cream ( Lar's idea). Afterwards we came home and sorted through all the candy and made sure that we (me and Lar) got the candy that we wanted first. The kids know every year that their dad goes through the candy first and I think that the older they get the more they dread it, cause he takes the best candy first.

Tman was able to go hunting with his dad the last day of the Spike Elk hunt after the whole week of pouting that he had to go to school instead hunt with his dad. They hadn't been gone more than 2 hours and I get a phone call, "Mom dad killed an elk!" In the back of my head I was thinking great, what are we going to do with an elk, but instead I was so excited that Taylor was able to be with his dad when he got the elk. What a wonderful memory was made for Taylor and his dad. Lar said that when they got down to where the elk was Taylor started to shake and breath heavy, it's amazing how that is born into them. I can't say I get that excited when I see an elk, but whatever must be a man thing. Taylor was in charge of packing out the head and he loved every minute of it. The elk came home with the name of Paul. So Paul is now at the butcher's getting made into jerky.

Gab is in a ceramics class and loves it, she goes every Wed. night. She is painting 3 little ghosts for Halloween, I signed her up for another class in November. I will post pictures when she brings them home. I think the only thing she is really concerned about right now is playing with friends, she has complete meltdowns if she cannot find anyone to play with on the weekends. She has also started to do her own hair which is driving me crazy, we had to compromise and I do hair on school days, and she does her hair on weekends.

Little Miss Kennedy is very busy these days. I forgot what it was like to have toddler around the house. She is in love with Barney, we watch Barney alot. She also loves the movie Spirit, we also watch that movie alot. They have the movie Spirit at the Fit Stop so when I go to workout and take her to the daycare that's the first thing she asks for is the horsee movie. It has taken along time, but she has finally figured out that an hour without her mom is ok, and she will be fine. I found Taylor's bouncing Tigger yesterday and put batteries in it and showed it to Kennedy it scared her to death and she would not touch it, after a little while she realized that it wasn't so bad she would boucne when Tigger bounced.

T-man turns 10

For Taylor's 10th b-day I let him have a friend party, I also let Gab have an un b-day party because of her b-day being 3 days before Christmas. So I had it at my house and borrowed Lar's cousins blow up waterslides the kids had a blast. Yes it was crazy to say the least I didn't realize how out of control 9, 10 year boys could be. Gab had 6 friends here. BIG difference between boys and girls. I ordered pizza from Dominios and cupcakes from Costco and was very thankful that my friend Joey was here to help with Kennedy. It was chaos.
Taylor's b-day was on a Wednesday this year and Lar was out of town so I let him open a couple of presents that morning with his sister's and that night we had strawberry shortcake and sang Happy B-day to him. On Friday we had cake and ice cream with the family. I cannot beleive that he is 10, seems like yesterday I was puking my guts out and was crying because I didn't know that pregnancy was suppose to be like that. I remembering my mom telling as I was wheeling my iv cart around the house "don't worry honey it will all be worth once that baby gets here" and she was right once he was born it was all worth it.

4th of July camping trip

We went camping with a bunch of friends for the 4th. The kids had a blast, I'm not sure which one was the dirtiest cause they all pretty much looked the same. T-man went on the horses with his dad and friends on friday, of course I was a nervous wreck the whole time they were gone but he did great and had fun. He couldn't understand why his butt was so sore later that night! Gab stuck to riding in the ranger with Lil's girls and had alot of fun. Miss K. was everywhere, Holy Crap I forgot what it was like to take a baby camping, I don't think I sat down for longer than a minute at a time. The ground was pretty unlevel so she would get cruising going down hill and would fall, she would get right back up and do it again. She was a little cranky Sat. but after a good nap she was good to go.

My poor horse

I think that everyone knows how hairy my horse Tiki gets every winter, she is like a wooly mammoth. Lar spends every weekend for months trying to get her winter hair off. Well a couple of weeks ago you couldn't even tell that she had a head she was one big hair ball so he took the clippers and shaved her face, I do have to admit that her face did look better. After weeks of threatening me that he was going to shear her like a sheep he did!! I couldn't believe it he was out there with clippers shearing my poor horse. He said that the hair was coming off in clumps. When he tried to do her back legs she would kick at him so her back legs are still hairy. Because it is still cold outside she is now sleeping with a blanket on her tonite. Poor horse, who shears a horse anyways? I will post pictures later.

Easter Photos

We had a good Easter, the kids woke up at 4:10 a.m. to tell us that the Easter Bunny had came. I told them that they could see what they got for Easter and that they had to go back to bed. They came back in at 6:00 a.m. and wanted to find Easter eggs so I let them and we stayed in bed until baby K woke up. We went to Lar's aunt's house for another Easter egg hunt and for dinner. The kids had a great time and were extremely tired that night. All in all it was a great day.

T-man student council

Tman is now on the student council for the recycling committee. He had to fill out a paper and give reasons why he would be good at this job and one of the reasons he wrote down was he could lift heavy things! I thought that it was pretty cute that he wrote that, I would never tell him that I thought it was cute though, cute is not a word a 9 year old boy wants to hear. He has to be to meetings every tuesday mornings at 8:00 we'll see how that goes he is not a morning person at all!!!!

This was are day today and the day's not over yet. The crazy hair is from peach jam she rubs whatever she eats into her hair now. The baricade is to keep her from climbing the stairs and until we get a gate. Yes, I did catch her when she fell I dropped the camera and caught the baby. She was almost to the top of the stairs.

Baby K's new things to do

In a matter of a few days baby K has learned to open cupboard doors, throw her toys in the toilet and climb the stairs. All of this happened within 3 days. Needless to say we are putting child locks on the cupboard doors and getting a gate. We gave the kids those cards that play music for Valentines Day and Baby K loves them, she loves to open them till she hears the music and then she will hurry and shut them. I can't believe that my baby will be 1 in a couple of days.

The Circus

After school today I took the kids to the circus, they had a blast. Needless to say we are all still alive and survived. I was a little nervous when I saw the so called cage that the lion and tigers were in and we were so close to them. I was really worried when it started it was very loud and noisy, all I could think about was how is baby K going to make it through this, we all know how she is about loud noises. To my surprise she was wonderful she was clapping and dancing the entire time. I couldn't believe it she had a blast!!! Gab was very excited the circus started with the ever so popular High School Musical song, and ladies dancing on the trapeez, my thoughts were "oh great I hope that she doesn't want to join the circus now!"
Gab later told me that she wanted to join the circus, not to dance but to sell food, only Gab the garbage gut would think of that!!! So we came home and told her dad this reply was "Oh great!" T-man also had a blast he had a friend there from school so they sat by each other, his favorite part was the motorcycles in the cage which I told him he was not allowed to ever do. He also loved the guy walking on some ring contraption that put the him way up in the air. So that is our first circus experience and to my surprise we all had fun and no one complained!

I have finally decided to start my own blog. I'm not sure what I'm doing yet, will have to figure it out as I go. We went to build a bear today, the kids were out of school and Gab. had gift cards from there that she had got for her bday. We now have 5 build a bears one of them is t-mans.
